John J. Martin Jr. is a Certified Public Accountant as well as an Attorney. His areas of concentration include estate planning, corporate law, probate administration, as well as residential and commercial real estate. Upon graduation from college, John joined the national accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand. That experience enabled him to obtain his C.P.A. credentials. Later, while attending law school at night, he was employed by the Bank of New England-West as an Assistant Vice President where he managed the Bank’s Internal Audit Department.

William E. Martin is a 1987 graduate of Boston College Law School. His areas of concentration include zoning and land use, commercial real estate development, personal injury, medical malpractice and business litigation, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law. Bill is the Richmond Town Moderator and a member of the Town’s Zoning Board of Appeals. He is a past member of the Town’s Finance Committee and was the Co-Chair of Richmond’s School Building Committee. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of the Berkshires, Inc. and of the Board of Directors of Girls, Inc. and where he served as its Treasurer and President.

After graduation from Boston College Law School, Bill became an associate with the Boston law firm of Choate, Hall & Stewart. There he was a member of the Real Estate and Bankruptcy Departments, as well as the firm’s Real Estate Workout Group. Since returning to Berkshire County, Bill has gained significant civil litigation experience in both the District and Superior Courts. He has represented many clients in serious personal injury claims, including automobile accidents, medical malpractice and product liability claims. Bill has recovered over $6 million dollars for his clients in recent years.

More recently, Bill has retuned his focus to commercial real estate development. He has represented developers in multi-million-dollar projects, including three major hotel projects in Berkshire County. He is also heavily involved in the representing ski area clients, both in transactional and litigation matters. He is a member of the National Association of Ski Area Defense Lawyers. He is hoping to open an office in Park City, Utah by 2020.

Tom Martin is a partner with Martin & Oliveira, LLP. His areas of concentration include residential and commercial real estate, landlord/tenant matters, corporate law, creditor’s collections and bankruptcy law. He graduated from Roger Williams University School of Law.

Prior to joining the firm, Tom worked as a law clerk at Harmon Law Offices in Newton, Massachusetts and at the Providence Law Department as a Student Practitioner.

Tom graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a Past Member of the Board of Directors of Berkshire County Kids’ Place as well as a Current Member of the Board of Directors of the Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity.

Tom resides in Pittsfield with his wife, the former Amanda Dorney, and their two chldren, Mia and Jade.

Michael Martin joined the firm in January, 2014. His principal areas of practice are civil and personal injury litigation with a specialization in land use and zoning disputes. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk to the Hon. Karyn Scheier, Former Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Land Court. Notably, while in law school, Michael served as an intern with the Suffolk County Probate and Family Court and as a student attorney in the schools community development clinic, which assisted non-profit corporations and small business in the South Coast of Massachusetts. Michael received a J.D., magna cum laude, in 2012 from University of Massachusetts School of Law, and a B.S. in Finance, with a History minor, from Roger Williams University, in 2009.

Anthony G. Massimiano is a graduate of Williams College and Northeastern University School of Law. His areas of concentration include residential and commercial real estate, estate planning, probate administration, corporate law and business transactions.

Upon graduation from law school, Tony served as a law clerk to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He has also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for Massachusetts and for over 25 years was a member of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners and the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

Tony has been in private practice in Pittsfield since 1976 and joined Martin & Oliveira, LLP in 2017. He is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts as well as to the bar of the United States District Court, District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Claims. He is a member of the Berkshire Bar Association, the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts, and the Massachusetts Bar Foundation.

Tony currently is president of a non-profit housing corporation and is a past member of several other non-profit organizations and of the City of Pittsfield Parks Commission and Conservation Commission.

Tony lives in Pittsfield with his wife, Kathy, and they have three grown children. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, hiking, boating and playing with his grandchildren.

John R. Gobel has practiced law for 40 years in Pittsfield concentrating his practice in the areas of condominium and homeowner association law, residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and probate law including estates and guardianships and litigation in all state and federal courts. David R. Cianflone is of counsel with the firm.

David has practiced law in Pittsfield since 1983. His practice focuses on litigation including in particular the areas of family law, divorce, custody, visitation, personal injury and real estate. David also practices in the areas of corporate law and real estate.

David has appeared in the Federal Court in both Boston and Springfield, Massachusetts as well as the First Circuit Court of Appeals. He has appeared before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He has represented thousands of clients and has trial experience in both the Federal and State Courts.

David was admitted to practice law before the Massachusetts Bar in 1983 and in the Federal Courts in 1985. He was Editor-in-chief of Quinnipiack Law Review in 1982-1983, and has been a member of the Pittsfield Rotary Club from 1987 to present. David was also a member of the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy from 1987 until 2003, and served as their president from 2003 until 2007.
